VR Experience At The Heart Research Institute Illuminate Dinner

Wednesday, November 29, 2017
VR Tours recently ran the Heart Research Institute's walk-through virtual tour at their end of year dinner Illuminate through a VR headset mirrored onto a big screen TV. The Illuminate dinner was aimed at exploring the drive behind scientific excellence: curiosity. Curiosity is one of HRI's key values. With it, HRI researchers wonder 'why'? and 'what if'? as they explore, investigate, and learn more about ways to detect, prevent and treat cardiovascular disease.

The VR experience ran by VR Tours' Owner and Founder Nick Walker, was an opportunity for the dinner guests to 'virtually' explore the scientific labs and facilities of the HRI which otherwise would not be possible. The virtual tour was also projected onto a big screen TV via an HDMI mirroring cable so that other dinner guests could see what the user with the headset on was seeing in the VR headset. This set up is ideal for events or for trade show booths. If you are interested in having VR Tours develop a similar VR solution for your company, please contact us and speak to Nick Walker.

The Heart Research Institute Gets The VR Tours Treatment

Tuesday, April 18, 2017

VR Tours has just completed work on a large virtual tour for the Heart Research Institute (HRI).

The HRI’s headquarters are located in a purpose built facility in Newtown Sydney, which is designed to support cutting edge research into cardiovascular disease. The state of the art laboratories are split over two levels, and provide research for more than 150 scientific staff. The HRI’s scientists are at the forefront of conducting innovative research to prevent, detect, and treat cardiovascular disease.

VR Tours was commissioned by the Heart Research institute to build a walk-through virtual tour of their three level state of the art research facility. The aim of the virtual tour was to showcase the cutting edge equipment and facilities so that financial donors who have made contributions to the HRI can see how their valuable funds are being used.

Secondly, the HRI is going to be using the tour to showcase the high end research facilities to attract potential researchers and scientists to come and do their research work at the HRI.

The virtual tour features VR Tours' newest feature LivePanos, which allows video footage to be stitched into the static spherical panoramic virtual tour image to bring a scene alive! Real HRI staff and researchers were used as presenters in the LivePanos to explain key features and summaries of the state of the art equipment which the world leading research facility boasts.

The tour also features navigational walk-through hot spots, an Interactive Floor Plan to aid user navigation around the facility, pop up information hot spots which provide additional information about certain pieces of equipment, along with all of the new features of our new V3 platform virtual tours.

VR Tours Works With The Summer Foundation

Thursday, July 28, 2016

VR Tours has just completed a project working with Melbourne based The Summer Foundation. The Summer Foundation's mission is to create, lead and demonstrate long-term sustainable changes that stop young people from being forced to live in nursing homes because there is nowhere else for them. They establish, evaluate, and document demonstration projects in order to encourage others to replicate these projects to increase the range and number of housing and support options for people with disability.

VR Tours worked with the summer foundation to build a virtual walk-through experience which would showcase the many design features of their disability apartment living via their web site. The aim of the virtual tour was to allow visitors to walk the apartment as if they were actually there. With the integration of navigational walk-through hot spots, an interactive floor plan, and pop up information hot spots which also featured a video clip, the virtual tour allows a visitor to be educated on the cutting edge disability design features of the apartment. VR Tours also produced a range of high resolution still photos for use in the Summer Foundation's other online and offline marketing collateral.

The virtual tour of the Summer Foundations Hunter apartment can be viewed here.
